چکیده

Repetitive negative thinking and experiential avoidance have been hypothesized to be related, transdiagnostic maintenance factors for depression anxiety, yet is unclear how these processes overlap or diverge. Here we use a symptom-level approach address this question. Adults presenting treatment an intensive CBT program (n = 492) completed measures of anxiety symptom severity, repetitive thinking, avoidance. Our pre-registered network analysis examined the contribution predictability network. Exploratory analyses used permutation testing formally evaluate Permutation indicates that significantly improved worrying poor concentration, whereas difficulties relaxing, being afraid something bad was going happen, feeling like failure. sample cross-sectional predominantly white, educated, industrialized, rich, democratic (WEIRD) sample. each were associated with symptoms but did not across comorbid More broadly, applying helps more precisely identify which are factors, thus providing insight into may contribute co-occurring disorders.

Running head: MEDIATORS OF REPETITIVE NEGATIVE THINKING Intolerance of uncertainty and negative metacognitive beliefs as transdiagnostic mediators of repetitive negative thinking in a clinical sample with anxiety disorders

This study aimed to replicate and extend a hierarchical model of vulnerability to worry, with neuroticism and extraversion as higher-order factors and negative metacognitions and intolerance of uncertainty as second-order factors. The model also included a transdiagnostic measure of repetitive negative thinking (RNT) and depression symptoms as outcome variables to determine whether relationship...

Repetitive negative thinking predicts depression and anxiety symptom improvement during brief cognitive behavioral therapy.

Repetitive negative thinking (RNT) is a common symptom across depression and anxiety disorders and preliminary evidence suggests that decreases in rumination and worry are related to improvement in depression and anxiety symptoms. However, despite its prevalence, relatively little is known about transdiagnostic RNT and its temporal associations with symptom improvement during treatment. The cur...

Reductions in negative repetitive thinking and metacognitive beliefs during transdiagnostic internet cognitive behavioural therapy (iCBT) for mixed anxiety and depression.

We explored whether transdiagnostic internet-delivered cognitive behavioural therapy (iCBT) for mixed anxiety and depression effectively reduces repetitive negative thinking (RNT), and whether reductions in RNT and positive metacognitive beliefs mediate symptom improvement during iCBT. Participants with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), major depressive disorder (MDD), or mixed GAD/MDD diagno...
